Tenure-track position in Experimental Physics at San Diego State University
03 December 2021
THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS http://physics.sdsu.edu/ at SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY http://www.sdsu.edu/announces a tenure-track position in EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICS at the assistant professor level with the appointment beginning Fall 2022. The Department has strong efforts in the areas of optics, condensed matter, theoretical/ computational physics (nuclear physics, astrophysics, general relativity, and soft matter), and medical physics. Overlapping interests with any of these research areas are welcome. The Department offers a bachelor's and master's degrees in physics and a Ph.D. in computational science jointly with the University of California, Irvine.
Review of applications will begin on January 15, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled. Questions should be directed cos-phys-search-2022@sdsu.edu
Postdoctoral Fellow Position at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
29 November 2021
We are looking to fill a postdoctoral fellow position in the BeEST collaboration at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in precision nuclear recoil spectroscopy. We seek a candidate with extensive experience in cryogenic or low-temperature physics with a focus on quantum sensing in subatomic physics.
The successful candidate will install, test and operate superconducting tunnel junction (STJ) quantum sensor arrays in a liquid-cryogen-free dilution refrigerator. The PDF will be expected to lead the LLNL experimental effort and make independent contributions to the search for physics beyond the standard model with the BeEST. This fellow will have the opportunity also to spend 25% of their time to pursue independent research for career development. This position is in the Rare Event Detection group of the Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Theory postdoc position in low-energy nuclear theory at Chalmers University of Technology
24 November 2021
The theoretical subatomic physics group at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher position in low-energy nuclear theory.
Details about the postdoctoral researcher position and the application procedure are given here:
Position reference number: Ref 20210550
Postdoctoral researcher in Theoretical nuclear physics
The postdoctoral project will focus on fundamental science questions in theoretical nuclear physics. More specifically, we will use ab initio nuclear-structure theory and a modern understanding of the nuclear interaction grounded in effective field theory to model subatomic processes with quantified theoretical uncertainties. The project will involve the development of state-of-the-art research methods that involve quantum many-body theory, effective field theory, computational physics, and advanced statistical methods.
Tenure-track Faculty Position in subatomic physics phenomenology at University of Regina
19 November 2021
Canada Research Chair (CRC) Tier 2 in Subatomic Physics Phenomenology at the University of Regina
Opening date: November 17, 2021
The Department of Physics and Faculty of Science at the University of Regina invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor who would be nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in subatomic physics phenomenology. The position is not contingent on a successful CRC application. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022.
The Department of Physics is a leader in subatomic physics research with established programs in neutrino physics (T2K and Hyper-K), beyond the Standard Model phenomenology (MOEDAL, CERN), hadron structure (Jefferson Lab and the Electron Ion Collider), nuclear structure and astrophysics (TRIUMF), neutrinoless double beta decay (LEGEND), and applied nuclear science (Fedoruk Centre). We are seeking a subatomic physics phenomenologist to join our dynamic and collaborative department and develop a vigorous externally funded research program that is complementary to our existing research activities, will strengthen our role in national and in international projects, will open new avenues for future collaboration and will provide essential theoretical support for our experimental faculty.
