Postdoctoral fellowship in gravitational and nuclear astrophysics (Lyon, France)

19 February 2019

The Theory Group of the Institute for Nuclear Physics of Lyon (IPNL) invites applications for a two-year CNRS funded postdoctoral fellowship in gravitational and nuclear astrophysics. Our group has strong ongoing research efforts in nuclear, hadron and particle physics and astrophysics and the successful candidate will work on the project entitled « understanding super-dense matter with gravitational waves ». We are seeking excellent recent graduates candidates (PhD defense after Sept. 2017) with solid knowledge of theoretical physics. We especially encourage applications from candidates with experience in computational astrophysics and/or dense matter modeling, however outstanding candidates in all areas will be considered.

The successful candidate will work closely with three researchers in the group (A. Arbey, H. Hansen and J. Margueron). The group is also member of the PHAROS COST European network which organizes conferences, workshops and schools in compact star physics.

Applicants should apply online though the official CNRS web-site: http://bit.ly/2Ghmev4 (French and English versions are available). Also available from: https://inspirehep.net/record/1720139

Two letters of references and CV shall preferably be submitted online.
