3 Postdoctoral Fellow Positions at TRIUMF
Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Low-Energy Nuclear Physics at UNC-TUNL
Postdoctoral research position in the Nuclear and Particle Physics Group at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
The Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division within the Physical and Life Sciences Directorate at LLNL has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the Nuclear and Particle Physics (NPP) Group. The successful candidate will play a major role in developing a comprehensive experimental program of fission studies using inverse and direct kinematics reactions. This project will establish a research effort to deliver and validate high-precision isotopic identifications of primary fission fragments from unstable isotopes for which there are limited experimental or evaluation data. In addition, the project aims to verify the usefulness of the inverse kinematic measurements with those measured in direct kinematics using real photon or neutron beams. This unique fission data will provide important benchmarks for a variety of basic science topics spanning the fission process and nucleosynthesis. This is a two-year Postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to three years.
