MARS Simulation Lead in the Target Systems Department at Fermilab
20 January 2023
The Target Systems Department of the Fermilab Accelerator Directorate seeks an individual to become the successor for the current MARS Group Lead, Nikolai Mokhov. For job description and other details, please see
Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate in nuclear physics to participate in the study of single-particle structure of exotic nuclei using transfer reactions as a probe. The PDRA will be supporting and developing the experimental programme with the ISOLDE Solenoidal Spectrometer. The project is also concerned with the implementation of a new technique for probing the fission process via measurements of transfer-induced fission using a solenoidal spectrometer and an array of heavy-ion detectors for fission fragments.
Please feel free to contact David Sharp david.sharp@manchester.ac.uk with any enquiries and forward to any interested colleagues.
The application deadline is 13th February.
Post-doctoral position in Targets for Nuclear Physics within EURO-LABS project at GANIL
19 January 2023
We currently have an open post-doc position in our group entitled "M/W Postdoctoral Researcher in Targets for Nuclear Physics within EURO-LABS project at GANIL". We would appreciate if you could bring this offer to the attention of any students or post-docs at your lab or university that may have an interest in nuclear physics targets.
Interested candidates should apply via this link or contact Christelle Stodel (christelle.stodel@ganil.fr) for further information:
Job Description: A nuclear physicist and/or engineer to assist with radiation spectroscopy operations in PNNL's Radiochemical Processing Laboratory. Analyses include applications such as provenance testing of actinide materials out of regulatory control, Hanford tank waste sample characterization, reactor dosimetry measurements, analyzing complex low- and high-activity samples in support of the International Monitoring System's Radiation Laboratory, and nuclear forensics. The role will support fundamental nuclear data measurements probing neutron-induced fission yields of actinides, development of algorithms and software for automated analysis of advanced radio-emission spectroscopy systems, and development of detector arrays for improved detection sensitivities. If you have questions please feel free to reach out to Stephanie Lyons (stephanie.lyons@pnnl.gov) or Bruce Pierson (bruce.pierson@pnnl.gov) for more information.
