IRL postdoc position in the field of nuclear & astro-nuclear theory

We are offering a 2y postdoc position at IRL for nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics (hosted by FRIB, East Lansing) in the field of theoretical nuclear and astro-nuclear physics. The successful candidate will work at the frontier in heavy-ion collisions, finite-nuclei and neutron stars with a supervision team composed by P. Danielewicz, W. Lynch, J. Margueron, B. Tsang. Postdoc position in nuclear astrophysics data evaluation at Michigan State University

The Center for Nuclear Astrophysics across Messengers (CeNAM) at Michigan State University's Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) is seeking candidates for a postdoc position (up to 3 years) in nuclear astrophysics data evaluation.

The successful candidate will evaluate experimental and theoretical nuclear data and combine them to create data products needed for astrophysical models; will develop advanced computational infrastructure for dissemination of nuclear astrophysics data; and will closely collaborate with the FRIB nuclear data group, the nuclear data community, and the broader nuclear astrophysics community. The position includes the opportunity for research activities related to nuclear data.

During the 2-year period the successful candidate will work on nuclear moment studies of short-lived excited states of stable and radioactive ion beams using the TDRIV technique and of short-lived (nanosecond to microsecond) isomeric states using the TDPAD/TDPAC techniques. The main activities will consist of preparation, data taking, analysis and publication of the obtained results for experiments performed at world leading laboratories as e.g. ISOLDE, RIKEN, GANIL and JYFL.
