Nuclear Science Lab at the Department of Physics University of Notre Dame invites applications for a post-doc position in experimental research in nuclear astrophysics and nuclear structure. The successful candidate will join the groups of Prof. Anna Simon and Prof. Manoel Couder. They will be involved experimental nuclear astrophysics, in particular proton and alpha capture reactions for a variety of stellar environments. They will be involved with a range of gamma-ray detectors and electromagnetic separators. The successful candidate should have a strong background in experimental nuclear physics, programming and data analysis, and Geant4 simulations. Knowledge of statistical model codes will be a valuable asset. An interest for hands-on and construction activities is a plus.
Interested individuals should submit a cover letter and their CV, and arrange for three letters of recommendations to be submitted here: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/10847. The review of the applications will begin March 15th, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled.

Three postdoctoral researcher positions are now open in the ERC Consolidator Grant project MAIDEN “Masses, Isomers and Decay studies for Elemental Nucleosynthesis” at the University of Jyväskylä. The project focuses on neutron-rich nuclei relevant for the astrophysical r process. Applicants with previous experience in mass measurements, decay spectroscopy or ion catcher gas cells are particularly encouraged to apply. The positions are for two years and can start earliest June 1, 2018.
Deadline for applications: March 31, 2018.
