Postdoctoral researcher in the Nuclear and Particle Physics Group at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

07 December 2018

The Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division within the Physical and Life Sciences Directorate at LLNL has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the Nuclear and Particle Physics (NPP) Group. The NPP Group maintains a diverse nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics and nuclear fission program that is relevant to testing nuclear models important to nucleosynthesis, stockpile-stewardship and nuclear-energy applications. The successful candidate is expected to play a major role in an ongoing experimental program that uses high-intensity neutron and photon beams to provide high-precision fission product-yield data and capture cross-section measurements. The program helps improve our understanding of nuclear reaction mechanisms and advance state-of-the-art nuclear fission models. This is a two-year Postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to three years.
